RESINS:
The largest use of
Formaldehyde is in the manufauture of synthetic thermosetting resins
based on reaction with Phenols, Cresols, resorcinol, urea, elamine etc.
These Resins are used for manufacture of thermosetting moulding
powders, industrial & decorative laminates, Plywood, Adhesives,
Paints, Plasticizers, Paper, Foundry resins, etc.
DESINFECTION AND FUMIGATION:
Formaldehyde
solutions are used in appropriate concentrations to destroy bacteria,
fungi & moulds. Formaldehyde is also a constituent of chemical
toilet fluids deodorants & sterilisation solutions. Other
application areas are as a fumigant to disinfect ships, poultry houses,
dairies, leather hides, etc.
TEXTILES:
Formaldehyde is
used in the maufacture of textile intermediates & dyestuff.
Formaldehyde is capable of modifying natural and synthetic fabrics to
make them crease resistant, crush proof, water repellent, flame
resistant, and shrink proof. Formaldehyde and its derivatives also have
applications in dressing and finishing leather goods, fur and hair.
EMBALMING AND PRESERVATION:
Formaldehyde is an
active ingredient for many embalming fluids. Anatomic specimens are
preserved in dilute Formaldehyde solution in laboratories an medical
colleges.
PACKING:
Bulk 9tyl are delivered by road tankers of 15- 22 tones capacity.
